Scope
The goal of this project was to create a comprehensive guidebook for travelers planning to hike the Huayhuash Circuit in Peru’s Andes — one of the most remote and breathtaking treks in the world. The guide aims to provide an authentic perspective on solo trekking, combining practical insights with personal experiences to help adventurers prepare for the physical, logistical, and mental challenges of the journey.
Process
The project was based on a real solo expedition around the Huayhuash range. Over several weeks, I gathered trail notes, GPS data, photography, and daily journal entries documenting every stage of the experience. These materials were later analyzed, structured, and transformed into an accessible format that blends storytelling with actionable guidance. The process also included designing the layout and creating a digital version of the guide for easy online access.
Solution
The final outcome is a complete digital guidebook that gives future trekkers a clear and realistic overview of the entire Huayhuash Circuit — from preparation and gear selection to navigation and coping with extreme conditions. The guide merges personal authenticity with detailed information, resulting in a resource that is both inspirational and practical for anyone seeking to explore the wild Andes on their own.
